The occupational health and safety of our employees is a vital concern for Biogénie, both in our treatment facilities and during on-site operations. Our company’s priority is to educate our staff on the occupational risks of our operations and to help them develop and adopt work safety habits and behaviours while performing their daily tasks.

Occupational Health and Safety Corporate Director

Biogénie’s Health and Safety Corporate Director ensures that strict health and safety regulations are developed and adopted. His mission consists of development, implementation, verification and constant improvement of our health and safety programs, procedures and training to keep our employees safe on the job. He serves the entire EnGlobe family.

More specifically, the Occupational Health and Safety Corporate Director’s mandate is to:

  • Update and communicate our company’s health and safety record for national and international operations,
  • Communicate workplace accident investigation results and findings, and
  • Communicate to our customers, at the appropriate moment, precise information regarding prevention measures, bulletins and security alerts (INFO-SECURITY).

Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Programs

In order to ensure the safety of its employees, subcontractors, visitors and the general public, Biogénie’s health and safety policy aims at preventing accidents in the workplace and protecting human life. This firm commitment requires, among others,:

  • the accountability of directors, project leaders and staff,
  • the compliance with all laws and regulations in force in the jurisdictions  where our company operates,
  • the constant awareness of our staff of the risks associated with their work,
  • the development of an accident prevention program adapted to each project or situation,
  • the assignment of qualified personnel to each task performed,
  • the appropriate qualification and supervision of our subcontractors,
  • the integration of concrete measures regarding alcohol and drug use in the workplace,
  • the implementation of periodical verifications and controls to ensure the relevancy of procedures and safety measures and their constant improvement, and
  • the case management and analysis of workplace accidents and other occurrences to avoid their repetition.
